WebOptison is an ultrasound contrast media used to help provide a clear picture during the ultrasound. This contrast media contains very small gas-filled albumin microspheres that reflect the sound waves and aid in the creation of clearer images. This drug is administered intravenously before the ultrasound to help diagnose problems of the heart. WebOptison will be used for its approved indications (as an ultrasound contrast agent) and in compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) safety guidelines. Optison is a contrast agent used in ECHO studies, and does not involve any radiation/radioactive substances. The ECHO procedure does not expose patients to ionizing radiation, and
